last june 14 marked our 13th couple anniversary, and 19th wedding monthsary. it has also been 15 years since we became the best of friends, and 17 years since we first met. so going on a summer honeymoon trip to bali, indonesia was our way of celebrating these awesome milestones in our life.
summer officially ended in the philippines four days before our anniversary so the thought of chasing summer in bali also kept as excited about this trip. but it seemed like we brought summer with us, instead. it was raining when we arrived in bali but the summer weather started to show as soon as we reached little tree house in sanur. the weather was perfect during the rest of our stay in bali.
from the ngurah rai international airport, we were lucky to spot blue bird group taxis at the departure area. these taxis are the light blue and metered ones. the airport taxis are dark blue and have flat rates per area. the blue bird taxis do not have a terminal inside the airport so you need to walk to the departure area and wait for one that will be dropping off passengers. we payed around idr95,000 compared to the idr150,000 airport taxi rate.
we arrived around 9 a.m. at the guesthouse so our room was not ready yet. we were given house letter a, which is beside the swimming pool, as our temporary room where we can leave our bags and freshen up before we go out exploring our sanur neighborhood. we were transferred to the upstairs house letter c, which offered us more privacy, by 12 p.m.
during our stroll in the neighborhood, we were able to book two tours for the next two days. we also checked out the nearby sanur beach and had authentic balinese lunch at a local warung.
after transferring to our room and arranging our things, we decided to rest and just take a nap. we woke up around 3 p.m. and returned to sanur beach. we just sunbathed and watched the people kite-flying and kite-surfing.
dinner was at basilico italian pavilion and bar along sanur beach. we ordered penne aglio olio and a four-cheese pizza–nothing extraordinary but worth what we payed for. we enjoyed the complimentary bread set.
before retiring to our serene tree house, we dropped by a local mini-mart to buy snacks and drinks. we spent the rest of the evening just being lazy in our room, watching t.v. and eating junk foods until it was time to sleep.
